The Jam

The jam day is your introduction to the program, all you need to do is play one or two songs. To keep things simple, we are playing Knockin On Heavens Door (key of G) and Mustang Sally (key of C). Steve works out who the best people are to put you in a band with are, and this is where it all begins. The Jam is at KC's Rockshop.

The Venue

Sooki Lounge in Belgrave is the home for the Weekend Warrior Big Gig. After your 4 weeks of rehearsals you will invite all your friends and family to watch your new band play at a premiere venue that has hosted some of the countries biggest acts.

What is Weekend Warriors?

WW is a concept designed to get you playing your instrument in a band with professional mentorship from a rock legend, no matter what your playing ability is.

Who can join?

Anyone who plays an instrument is welcome to take part in the program, you don't even need to own any gear.

What does the program include?

When we launch a round it starts with a free Jam. Everyone is invited to come along and have a play. Our coach will evaluate everyone's ability and musical taste and if you choose to continue with the program we will place you in a band.

You will have your first band meeting at our store, and be introduced to your other band members. You will then have 4 weeks of rehearsals under the mentorship of Steve Wade.

After this you are gig ready - invite all your friends and family along to your gig at the Sooki Lounge Belgrave. The bands who have taken part in the program will each play a set to show off your new rock skills.

We provide everything that is needed, instruments, amps, PA, mics and rehearsal space, of course you are welcome to bring your own instrument if you prefer.

Am I good enough? I'm nervous about joining!

Don't be, the whole aim of this program is to have fun. Everyone who takes part is doing it for exactly the same reason. To enjoy making music with other people.

How do I get started?

Our next round will be launching on October 13th at KCs Rockshop. Come along and see what it's about.
