The NUX Queen of Tone is a dual overdrive stompbox pedal combining two independent overdrive circuits — the Horseman and the Morning Star — in a single compact enclosure. It suits guitarists who rely on stacking or switching between two distinct overdrive characters, whether for rhythm and lead tones or for layering drive stages in their signal chain.

The Horseman circuit, positioned on the left side of the pedal, is based on the legendary Centaur overdrive and features Output, Tone, and Gain controls. Holding the footswitch engages SILVER mode, which extends the gain range beyond what the standard Gold mode (a transparent Centaur-style overdrive) provides — effectively offering the headroom of an 18V-powered circuit from a standard 9V supply. The Morning Star circuit on the right side is based on the Bluesbreaker — a transparent, low-gain drive — and includes Drive, Tone, and Level controls. Holding its footswitch activates SHINE mode, delivering a crystal-clear treble-boosted tone. Routing between the two circuits can be switched between MS→HM and HM→MS via a toggle switch.

On the rear panel, a BF/TB toggle switch allows selection between Buffer-Bypass and True-Bypass to suit different signal chain requirements, while the IFS/NORMAL toggle engages the Input FET Stage, which increases the input signal level to push a tube amplifier harder. An EXT. SW jack accommodates an external footcontroller such as the NUX NMP-2 for remote operation. The pedal runs on 9V DC negative tip power and draws less than 100mA.
