The sE Electronics sE2200 is a large diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone designed for studio recording and live performance applications. Building on the legacy of an award-winning lineage, it delivers a smooth, polished sound character well suited to vocalists, voiceover artists, and engineers recording a broad range of instruments. It is a practical choice for home studios and professional environments alike, and has been used with internationally recognised artists including Amy Winehouse.

At the heart of the sE2200 is a hand-crafted 1-inch true condenser capsule, individually tuned at sE Electronics' own factory in Shanghai. Rather than a single diaphragm, two gold-sputtered diaphragms are employed to optimise acoustic performance. The circuit design follows a traditional Class-A discrete topology with no integrated circuits, relying on carefully selected surface-mounted components for low noise and consistent sensitivity. A custom-built output transformer contributes depth and weight to the overall sound, while the massively shielded all-metal housing provides effective rejection of electrical interference. A gold-plated XLR connector ensures reliable signal transfer. Two switchable low-cut filter frequencies (80 Hz and 160 Hz, 6 dB/oct) and two attenuation pad levels (-10 dB and -20 dB) extend the microphone's usability across a wide range of sources and SPL levels up to 145 dB.

The sE2200 ships with the sE Isolation Pack, which includes a quick-release shockmount and an adjustable all-metal pop filter, along with a thread adapter. The microphone has a self-noise figure of 8 dB, a signal-to-noise ratio of 86 dB, and a dynamic range of up to 137 dB with the -20 dB pad engaged. It requires 48V phantom power and presents an output impedance of less than 50 ohms. Recommended applications include vocals, acoustic guitar, overhead drum miking, room miking, piano, orchestral strings, woodwinds, and brass.
