The Gretsch G6120TGQM-56 Limited Edition Quilt Classic Chet Atkins Hollow Body is part of the Nashville/G6120 family, co-designed with country guitar legend Chet Atkins. This limited edition model takes the iconic 6120 design and elevates it with a highly figured laminated quilt maple body finished in a rich Roundup Orange Stain gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. It suits players who appreciate vintage Gretsch aesthetics combined with quality tonewoods and period-correct appointments, from rockabilly and country through to jazz and beyond.
The guitar is built around a 2.75" deep single-cutaway hollow body with an arched laminated quilt maple top and back, parallel tone bar bracing, and aged white binding with black/white purfling. The set maple neck features a standard "U" profile, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, aged white binding, and a 24.6" scale rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, aged pearloid wide-block inlays, and red side dots. Electronics consist of a pair of TV Jones T-Armond single-coil pickups in gold, controlled by individual neck and bridge volume knobs, a master volume, master tone, and a 3-position toggle switch. Hardware throughout is gold-finished and includes a Bigsby B6CBDE vibrato tailpiece, compensated aluminium bridge with pinned rosewood base, Grover Sta-Tite tuning machines, and gold arrow control knobs. A gold vintage thick plexi pickguard with ghosted Gretsch logo and Chet Atkins signpost graphic completes the vintage-inspired look.
The TV Jones T-Armond pickups deliver clear highs, full lows, and a controlled midrange suited to the hollow body format. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the body to resonate freely, and the pinned rosewood bridge base helps maintain intonation stability when using the Bigsby vibrato. Strung with nickel-plated steel strings (.011–.049), the guitar ships with a G6241 Gretsch 16" Deluxe Hollow Body Hardshell case included.
