Boss OD-3 Overdrive

The Boss OD-3 OverDrive is a compact stompbox pedal built in the tradition of Boss's legendary overdrive lineage, offering guitarists a significantly expanded range of smooth, natural overdrive tones with improved dynamic response. It suits players seeking that classic overdriven amplifier character — from mild, touch-sensitive breakup through to sustained, compressed drive — in a robust and road-ready format.

At the heart of the OD-3 is a dual-stage overdrive circuit that delivers a level of sustain and compression not found in previous Boss overdrive pedals. The circuit produces dynamic, non-muffled tones that are reminiscent of a classic overdriven stack amplifier, giving the signal a bigger, more open sound. Three straightforward controls — Drive, Tone, and Level — keep operation simple and intuitive, while the buffered bypass ensures signal integrity throughout the chain.

The OD-3 can be powered by a standard 9V battery (carbon-zinc or alkaline) or via an optional PSA series AC adaptor, drawing just 15mA of current. Expected battery life is approximately 34.5 hours with a carbon-zinc battery or 56 hours with an alkaline battery under continuous use. The pedal ships with a carbon-zinc battery included and is backed by Boss's five-year warranty.
