EarthQuaker Devices Silos Multi-Generational Time Reflection Device

The EarthQuaker Devices Silos is a compact delay pedal that combines digital, analogue, and tape delay into a single unit, making it a practical choice for guitarists and bassists who want versatile delay tones without carrying multiple pedals. It suits players across a range of styles, from those chasing atmospheric textures to those needing rhythmic, defined repeats, and has been specifically designed to respond well to gain and overdrive saturation.

The Silos offers three distinct delay modes — Digital (Mode D), Analogue (Mode A), and Tape (Mode T) — each providing up to one second of delay time with its own sonic character. Mode D delivers bright, strong repeats that sustain well as they decay. Mode A is mid-focused with faster diminishing repeats and a darker, murkier quality suited to both clean and distorted signals. Mode T emulates a well-worn tape delay with hints of oil can character, covering everything from dark undertones to atmospheric textures. Controls include Time, Repeats, and Mix, alongside a mode toggle switch. The Repeats control self-oscillates in Analogue and Tape modes at the 3 o'clock position but does not self-oscillate in Digital mode. Six preset slots allow users to save and recall complete settings, including the expression jack assignment. A TRS expression pedal input can be assigned to control Time, Repeats, or Mix. The pedal operates in either Live mode or Preset mode, switchable on the fly.

The Silos uses buffered bypass with tails, meaning power is required to pass signal. It features Flexi-Switch Technology, supporting both standard latching and momentary footswitch operation. Power is supplied via a standard 9V DC centre-negative 2.1mm barrel connector drawing 75mA — EarthQuaker Devices recommend a transformer-isolated or isolated-output supply for clean operation. The unit is hand-built in Akron, Ohio, and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Flexi-Switch® Technology
This device features Flexi-Switch® Technology! This relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching.

• For standard latching operation: tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass.
• For momentary operation: hold the footswitch down for as long as you’d like to use the effect. Once you release the switch the effect will be bypassed.

Power
This device takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!
