The Fender Standard Jazz Bass in Black with Maple Fingerboard and Black Pickguard is a versatile electric bass guitar suited to players at all stages of their musical journey. The Standard Jazz Bass features a poplar body with a gloss polyurethane finish, paired with a bolt-on maple neck finished in satin urethane with a gloss urethane headstock face. The Modern "C"-shaped neck profile is designed for comfort across a wide range of playing styles. The 20-fret maple fingerboard has a 9.5" radius, medium jumbo frets, black dot position inlays, and a Micarta nut set at 1.5" width. Two Fender Standard ceramic single-coil Jazz Bass pickups drive the electronics, controlled via two individual volume knobs (neck and bridge) and a master tone control. Hardware includes a standard top-load bridge with satin chrome steel barrel saddles, Fender Standard open-gear tuning machines with clover keys, a 4-bolt neck plate, chrome hardware finish, and a 3-ply black pickguard. Strings are nickel plated steel (.045–.105 gauges).

With a full 34" scale length and dual-action truss rod with 4mm hex head adjustment, the Standard Jazz Bass is practical to set up and maintain. The individual volume controls allow players to blend neck and bridge pickup output for a broad tonal range, from warm and round to bright and articulate.
