Ibanez SR500N Electric Bass - Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte

The Ibanez SR500N in Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte (MAM) is a 4-string electric bass designed for players seeking a versatile, high-performance instrument at a mid-range price point. Built around a lightweight Okoume body and a 5-piece Roasted Maple/Walnut neck, this bass suits working musicians and serious enthusiasts who require reliable tone, comfortable playability, and flexible electronics for live or studio use.

The SR500NMAM features Nordstrand Big Break passive pickups housed in soapbar-style casings, delivering a full-bodied, powerful tone with the clarity of a single coil design and noiseless operation. The onboard Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ includes an EQ bypass switch — allowing the player to shift between active and passive operation — and a 3-way mid frequency switch that selects between 250Hz, 450Hz, and 700Hz mid boost/cut centres. The Rosewood fretboard with abalone oval inlays sits atop a 24-fret neck with a 864mm (34") scale length. The MR5S bridge offers adjustable string spacing of ±1.5mm, accommodating individual playing preferences. Hardware is finished in black throughout.

In practical terms, the SR500NMAM is strung with D'Addario EXL165 strings (.045/.065/.085/.105) and is factory tuned E–A–D–G. The roasted maple neck provides improved stability and resistance to humidity and temperature variation compared to unprocessed maple. The slim SR neck profile and medium frets support accurate intonation and comfortable fretting across a wide range of playing styles.
