The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII is a compact, bi-amplified studio reference monitor designed for critical mixing and mastering in home, project, and professional studio environments. Sold here as a matched pair in black, each monitor employs a Midrange-Tweeter-Midrange (MTM) D'Appolito configuration that delivers point-source accuracy and a broad horizontal sweet spot while maintaining tight vertical dispersion — making the iLoud MTM MKII particularly well suited to desktop nearfield use where ceiling, floor, and desk reflections are a constant challenge. The inclusion of an ARC microphone and built-in acoustic self-calibration, together with compatibility with IK's ARC X software, means the monitors can be precisely tuned to the listening environment in minutes.
Each speaker in the pair is powered by a 100 W RMS Class D bi-amplified system driving two 3.5" custom composite cellulose fibre mid-woofers and a 1" back-chamber loaded silk dome tweeter. The DSP-tuned bass reflex design extends low-frequency response to 36 Hz (-10 dB), while audiophile-grade DSP handles crossovers, filtering, time alignment, EQ, and dynamic control to deliver linear phase response across the frequency range. Connectivity on each unit includes a combination 1/4" / XLR input, an ARC microphone input, and a USB port for firmware updates and control via ARC X software. Back-panel switches allow adjustment of LF extension, LF trim, HF trim, desk position, and sensitivity. A selectable 80 Hz low-frequency cutoff also makes the MTM MKII suitable for use in immersive audio setups including Dolby Atmos systems.
The iLoud MTM MKII is rated to a maximum SPL of 112.5 dB per speaker at 1 metre, with an ultra-flat frequency response extending from 36 Hz to 32 kHz (-10 dB) and class-leading phase coherence within +/- 15° from 200 Hz to 20 kHz. Each monitor includes an integrated tilting isolation stand with a 20° tilt range, a horizontal base pad for alternative placement, and a built-in mic stand thread for flexible positioning. The compact footprint occupies 30–50% less space than comparable designs, and each unit weighs approximately 5 pounds. ARC X software integration adds over 20 speaker emulations for A/B mix translation checks, and settings can be saved and recalled across sessions.
