Katoh MCG140SEQ Flamenco Cutaway Guitar - Spruce/Cypress

The Katoh MCG140SEQ CW is a professional-grade flamenco cutaway guitar designed for players who need both authentic flamenco tone and the practicality of amplified performance. Built with a solid European spruce top and solid cypress back and sides, this instrument delivers the bright, percussive character associated with traditional flamenco playing, while the onboard Fishman EQ system makes it well suited to larger venues where plugging in is essential. It comes supplied with a Katoh wooden hardshell case.

The MCG140SEQ CW features a cutaway body for unobstructed access to the upper frets, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard joined via a Spanish neck joint, and bone nut and saddle for clear resonance and sustain. The rosette is an all-natural inlaid wood mosaic, binding is Indian rosewood, and purfling combines maple and ebony on the top with maple on the back and sides. Tuning is handled by Katoh Gold Tuning Machines (DJ308X-E2 S4), and the guitar ships strung with Savarez strings. A transparent tap plate/pickguard is fitted as standard.

With a 650mm scale length, 52mm nut width, and flamenco bracing, the MCG140SEQ CW is built to respond quickly and project clearly — characteristics that suit both studio and stage flamenco performance. The two-way adjustable truss rod allows for neck relief adjustments over time, and the high-gloss PU finish adds durability. Mother-of-pearl fret markers are inlaid at the 5th, 7th, and 9th frets, and the guitar has 20 frets total with 12 to the body.
