The Maton Redwood 808 is an Australian-made acoustic guitar from Maton's Redwood Series, combining a plantation-grown Redwood (Sequoia Sempervirens) soundboard with Tasmanian Myrtle (Nothofagus Cunninghamii) back and sides. Built in the classic 808 body shape, this model is well suited to fingerstyle players, singer-songwriters, and intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a distinctive tonal character that differs from more common spruce or cedar-topped instruments. It comes supplied with a standard Maton hard case.

The Redwood top offers a tonal character comparable to Western Red Cedar but with a more pronounced treble presence and heightened dynamic response. Tasmanian Myrtle contributes warmth and sustain reminiscent of Maple-backed instruments. The guitar features a Queensland Maple neck, a Streaky Ebony fingerboard and bridge, scalloped Maton X bracing, and a bone nut and saddle. Hardware includes Chrome Grover Rotomatic machine heads and Maton's own AP5 PRO onboard pickup system. Strings are Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 12–53.

With a 25.5-inch scale length, 12-inch fretboard radius, and a nut width of 1.736 inches, the Redwood 808 offers a familiar, comfortable playing feel for players accustomed to standard-scale acoustic guitars.
