Music Nomad MN272 Acousti-Lok Strap Lock Adapter for TAYLOR Guitars with 9V Expression System Battery Box

The Music Nomad Acousti-Lok MN272 is a strap lock adapter designed specifically for Taylor® acoustic guitars fitted with the 9-volt Expression System® battery box. It allows players to use Schaller® style strap locks without permanently modifying the instrument, making it a practical solution for acoustic guitarists who want the security of locking straps while preserving the integrity of their guitar. Note: this model is not compatible with Taylor® Next Generation guitars fitted with the Claria™ system (MN271 is required for those), nor with original AA battery-powered Expression System® guitars.

The Acousti-Lok MN272 features a strong solid brass keyhole ring construction with a black finish, providing reliable security at the strap button. It is designed to work with Schaller® style strap locks (not included) and can be converted to suit other strap lock brands such as Dunlop®, or used with a standard non-locking strap pin. The adapter does not block the battery cartridge and includes a 7/64" Allen key for installation. No permanent modification to the guitar is required.

Installation involves separating the strap lock button using the provided Allen key, placing the keyhole ring over the end pin, and securing the plastic cover plate beneath the strap lock button flange. The design is intentionally low-profile to remain unobtrusive and to fit within most guitar cases without issue. Players using Dunlop® strap locks will need to source a shorter screw (3/16" socket head cap screw #6-32) for compatibility, as detailed in the manufacturer's conversion guide.
