Roadie 4 Automatic Instrument Tuner

The Roadie 4 (RD400) is an automatic instrument tuner designed for musicians who want fast, reliable and hands-free tuning across a wide range of geared-peg instruments. Compatible with acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, lap guitar and more, the Roadie 4 suits beginners and experienced players alike. It connects wirelessly to a free iOS and Android app via Bluetooth, enabling extended customisation and firmware updates.

The Roadie 4 features a redesigned vibration-detection system that senses string vibrations directly, making it immune to background noise in rehearsal rooms, stages or busy environments. A new auto-detect mode recognises which string is being plucked and tunes it automatically, while the default sequential tuning mode works from the lowest to the highest string. The device includes a 1.9" full-colour LCD screen (170×320 resolution), an intuitive scroll wheel for navigation, a built-in metronome, and a string-winding function for quick restringing. Over 150 alternate tunings across 12 instrument types are preloaded, with popular options including Drop D, Drop C, Open C, Open D, Open G, DADGAD, Half Step Down, Full Step Down and D Modal. Custom tunings and instrument profiles can be created and stored via the Roadie Tuner app, which also supports capo tuning and reference pitch adjustment.

The Roadie 4 is powered by a rechargeable LiPo 800 mAh battery that charges via USB-C. Its redesigned peg connector accommodates both larger and smaller tuning pegs, and the taller build with anti-slip back provides a more secure grip during use. A "Tune Up" feature can be enabled to approach pitch from below for improved tuning stability. The unit ships with a USB-C charging cable and quick-start guide, and is backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
