Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ, Maple Fingerboard, Vintage White

The Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ is a semi-hollow electric bass that reimagines the original 1951 Precision Bass platform with an unconventional SJ pickup configuration and thinline body construction. It suits bassists who want the familiar feel and silhouette of a Precision Bass combined with greater tonal versatility and reduced weight — making it a practical choice for rehearsals, recording and live performance alike. The Vintage White finish with parchment pickguard and maple fingerboard gives this model a distinctive vintage aesthetic that sets it apart from standard Squier offerings.

At the heart of the instrument is a semi-hollow nyatoh body, which adds natural acoustic resonance and reduces overall weight compared to a solid-body design. The SJ pickup configuration pairs a Fender-Designed alnico single-coil '51 P Bass pickup in the neck position with a Fender-Designed alnico Jazz Bass single-coil at the bridge, connected via a 3-way blade switch. This arrangement delivers a broad tonal range — from the deep, rounded warmth of a classic Precision Bass through to the tighter, more articulate growl of a Jazz Bass bridge pickup, with a blended option in between. The "C"-shaped maple neck carries a gloss polyurethane finish and features a maple fingerboard with black dot inlays, a 9.5" radius, and 20 narrow-tall frets, offering a comfortable and familiar playing feel. Vintage-style open-gear tuning machines, a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge with slotted barrel saddles, and skirted amp-style control knobs complete the hardware complement.

SEMI-HOLLOW THINLINE CONSTRUCTION
Lightweight and resonant, the semi-hollow thinline construction adds a warm, airy depth to the low end while keeping the bass comfortable and balanced for long playing sessions, striking the perfect blend between acoustic warmth and electric punch.

SJ PICKUP CONFIGURATION: '51 P BASS SINGLE-COIL AND JAZZ BASS SINGLE-COIL
Two iconic Fender voices in one, the SJ pickup configuration pairs the punchy, midrange growl of a '51 P Bass single-coil with the smooth, articulate clarity of a Jazz Bass single-coil, giving players a versatile tonal palette that covers everything from vintage thump to modern definition.

3-WAY BLADE PICKUP SWITCHING
The 3-way blade pickup switch gives players instant access to the '51 P Bass single-coil, the Jazz Bass single-coil, or both in combination, delivering three distinct tonal voices to suit any playing style or musical setting.

'51 PRECISION BASS BODY SHAPE
Drawn straight from the original 1951 Precision Bass design, this classic body shape carries the timeless silhouette that started it all, offering a comfortable, familiar feel that connects players to the very roots of the electric bass.

4-SADDLE VINTAGE-STYLE BRIDGE WITH SLOTTED BARREL SADDLES
