Valencia Professional Castanets

Valencia Professional Castanets (VZCA1) are a handheld percussion instrument suited to flamenco dancers and percussionists of all levels. Constructed from teak, they produce a rich, authentic tone that honours the traditional role castanets play in flamenco music and dance. The pair is supplied in a natural matt finish with the Valencia logo engraved on the shell, and comes complete with a drawstring carry bag for easy transport and storage.

The VZCA1 features a single sound box configuration with V-shaped ears for enhanced comfort during play. The set includes both a low-pitch (male/macho) castanet for the left hand, which maintains the beat, and a high-pitch (female/hembra) castanet for the right hand, which provides the more complex rhythmic patterns. The female castanet is marked with a (II) sign on the upper part of the ear to distinguish it from the male counterpart.

Each castanet measures 6.55 cm wide by 9.8 cm high by 3.05 cm deep, making them a compact and practical choice for rehearsal or performance.
