Fender Limited Edition Player II Stratocaster, Rosewood Fingerboard, Shell Pink

The Fender Limited Edition Player II Stratocaster in Shell Pink is a limited edition electric guitar that combines the timeless silhouette of the Stratocaster with a specification sheet aimed squarely at working and gigging players. Built in Mexico as part of the Player II series, this limited-run model sets itself apart from the standard lineup with a chambered ash body — rather than alder — and a set of Pure Vintage '61 Single-Coil Strat® pickups drawn from Fender's vintage-correct Pure Vintage range. It suits intermediate through experienced players who want authentic mid-1960s single-coil tone in a stage-ready instrument, finished in a striking pastel Shell Pink with period-correct tortoiseshell and aged-white appointments.

The neck is maple with a Modern "C" profile and a satin urethane finish on the back, paired with a gloss urethane headstock face. The fingerboard is slab rosewood with a 9.5" (241 mm) radius, rolled edges for a comfortable, broken-in feel, 22 medium jumbo frets, and white dot position inlays. A synthetic bone nut at 1.650" (42 mm) width and a single-action, head-adjust truss rod complete the neck assembly. All three pickups — neck, middle, and bridge — are Pure Vintage '61 Single-Coil Strat® units wound to vintage specifications with original-era cloth wiring. A 5-position blade switch covers the full tonal range, while a dedicated master volume and two independent tone controls (one for neck/middle pickups, one for bridge pickup) give precise tonal shaping. A 2-point Synchronized Tremolo with bent steel saddles handles vibrato duties, and Fender® ClassicGear™ tuning machines — featuring an 18:1 gear ratio in a vintage-style housing — provide reliable tuning stability. The pickguard is 4-ply tortoiseshell, with aged white plastic knobs, switch tip, and pickup covers.

The chambered ash body differentiates this Shell Pink limited edition from the standard Player II Stratocaster, lending a slightly lighter weight and a more resonant, open character compared to a solid alder body. The Pure Vintage '61 pickups are wound to reproduce the clear, powerful, surf-influenced single-coil tones associated with mid-1960s Stratocasters — a meaningful distinction from the Player Series Alnico V pickups found in the regular Player II line.
