The Yamaha FS7 RX is a concert-body acoustic-electric guitar made in Japan, designed with singer-songwriters in mind. Featuring a Sitka spruce top paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, it delivers articulate projection, rich harmonics, and a balanced tonal character well suited to fingerpicking and detailed playing styles. The smaller concert (FS) body shape sits comfortably for extended sessions and responds readily to nuanced technique, making it a strong choice for players who prioritise expressiveness and detail in their sound.

The FS7 RX is built around a scalloped X-bracing pattern optimised for the Sitka spruce top, complemented by a reinforced back developed through Yamaha's Acoustic Design process — a method that combines scientific acoustic analysis with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Aesthetic details reflect Japanese heritage throughout: the internal label is crafted from traditional washi paper, the rosette features rope-shaped inlays inspired by classic Japanese motifs, and the fingerboard inlays are drawn from ancient Kumiki woodworking methods. The guitar is equipped with Yamaha's Atmosfeel pickup system, which combines a bridge piezo sensor for low frequencies, a microphone for low and midrange frequencies, and a proprietary contact sensor for high frequencies, enabling amplified sound that closely reflects the instrument's natural acoustic voice.

The Atmosfeel system is designed for straightforward operation, with simple controls that allow the player to focus on performance rather than sound management. The solid Indian rosewood back and sides contribute full low-end response and rich harmonic complexity, complementing the clarity of the Sitka spruce top. As a Made-in-Japan instrument positioned within the FS7 Series, the FS7 RX shares design principles with Yamaha's flagship FG/FS9 Series, offering a high standard of construction and tonal refinement at its price point.
