The Yamaha PSR-SX620 is the entry-level model in the PSR-SX Arranger Workstation series, designed for musicians seeking an accessible yet capable instrument for home practice, creative exploration, and live performance. With over 1,000 Voices and 450 Styles spanning a wide range of musical genres, the PSR-SX620 provides rich, authentic accompaniment and expressive sound in a compact, modern package. It suits players at various stages of their musical journey who want professional arranger features without complexity.

The PSR-SX620 features a completely redesigned panel layout with a Joystick Controller for pitch and modulation control, and two assignable Live Control knobs for real-time adjustment of sound, effects, and Style parameters. Super Articulation (S.Art!) Voices capture the nuanced character of real instruments, while the Chord Looper allows players to record and loop chord progressions — storing up to 8 sequences per bank — freeing hands for melody or improvisation. Multi Pads enable triggering of rhythmic phrases, melodic patterns, and loops, with Audio Link Multi Pads supporting custom WAV audio assignment. Bluetooth Audio allows wireless music streaming from a connected device for play-along use, and the built-in audio recorder captures full sessions. The Smart Chord function converts a single root note into a full chord for simplified accompaniment. Playlist organises Registration Memory banks for quick recall of Voices, Styles, and settings, and MIDI Song to Style conversion software enables standard MIDI files to be turned into ready-to-play Styles.

The PSR-SX620 houses a newly developed speaker system with an Internal BassPort, an enlarged internal sound chamber, and a front-facing bass reflex design for enhanced low-frequency response relative to the instrument's compact size.
